Workplace Noise & Vibration Measurement & Assessment:
Occupational Noise & Vibration has become an increasingly important issue for employers whose staff use equipment that exhibits vibratory properties, or are employed within noisy or potentially noisy environments. The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 requires the assessment of the impact of vibrating equipment within the working environment. This not only deals with Hand Arm Vibration, the effects of which have been well researched on the circulatory and nervous systems in the hand and lower arm, but also Whole Body Vibration, which is known to have effects on the musculo-skeletal system.
The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 replaces the Noise at Work Regulations 1988, and like the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005, is empowered through the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. The main change from the previous Regulations is the setting of Action and Limit Values, as is the case with the Vibration levels, as well as the reduction in levels by 5dB. Our surveyors understand the necessity for accurate surveying, and have been trained in the use of the appropriate equipment to assess Noise and Vibration at work impacts, and our Associate has significant experience in the measurement and assessment of such impacts, and will oversee all assessments undertaken and plan all surveys.
Environmental Noise Measurement:
Many the sites our surveyors visit will also need a noise survey, which we can offer at a very cost-effective rate given our presence on site. Our surveyors are trained in the use of environmental Sound Level Meters, and our Associate has very considerable experience in the assessment of a wide range of Environmental Noise Surveys, including small-scale hydro-electric schemes and residential & farm scale wind farms, as well as large-scale industrial development, and housing schemes.
Assessment of Construction Noise
Our Associate has very considerable experience in the assessment of construction noise and is able to guide our surveyors in the assessment of construction noise, who would be able to undertake the works at a cost-effective rate if they are already present on site.
